A little like boucle, a little like handspun, this beautiful two-ply banana lace yarn gets the designation of "banana silk" for its silk-like shine and softness, with the benefit of the price and fiber content of a 100% cellulose fiber. The count of this pure banana yarn is unknown, but seems to be the tiniest bit thinner than 10/2 cotton at approximately 4500 yards per pound. Priced and sold by the skein.
And yes, it’s really made out of banana plant material that would otherwise go to waste from the banana industry!
